Aquarium Adventures

Collin, Cammy and I had a wonderful day exploring the Aquarium. Auntie Ambie, Chanel and Cole joined us. I am convinced that everyone from the zoo decided on the aquarium instead, due to rain of course. Is it ok that I wished the aquarium opened up just for us! It was so wonderful to see my little guys so interested in the cool sea creatures.

Mama and Cooie adventures

My little Cooie was a wonderful companion on my trip to Seattle. We ate good food, visited family and went shopping!

This and that!

I LOVE my little boys with all my heart. I am learning what it means to "try" and raise well adjusted members of society. I could have done things a lot better, but there is still hope. I told myself that I would be a teacher and make that a priority........until we had 3 of them. I told myself that I would not let them watch television or play video games in excess.......until I realized I would never have any "me" time unless I allowed TV and video games into our house. I also never anticipated that I might not always know how to handle all that my 3 sons bring to the table.

What if your two year old says poop, butt and wiener every other word. What if he calls you poopy butt in the middle of a crowded area. What do I do when he looks at you with the most adorable smile and says with arms wide open "I love you this much" but turns around a minute later and says with arms wide open "I hate you this much". What if you try to ignore it to fix it and the problem still persists. What if you discipline for it and the problem continues. Maybe there is no easy solutions sometimes. Maybe, this is more common than I think. Do other moms go through these trials and just keep it to themselves because they are embarrassed to admit they don't have it under control all the time.

These are my questions, that go unanswered. I want great kids like everyone else. Maybe I should just laugh at these days because it's a phase and they will grow up to learn respect. Yep, that's what I'll do, laugh it off. He always does!

It's not easy being green.

Cooie had his 4 year old vaccinations today and he was not happy. He handled it very well.....I thought we were all in trouble. I was pleasantly surprised. The Dr. would ask him questions and Collin would answer for him. Cooie seemed ok with this because he was catatonic and very uncomfortable. It made me realize how close they are. Collin told him he was doing a good job while getting his exam. I also found out that Cooie has a common childhood heart murmur. Kinda scary, but I was assured that it was no big deal. He was rewarded for his bravery with a green Italian soda and a frog book from mommy on top of all the cool stickers and books from the Dr. He has had a perma-grin since.

I painted some old tires as props for my biz and for my own personal pics of course. The boys loved playing in the tires and it was a super easy way to keep them in one spot for a few minutes. The black jacket Cooie is wearing was a gift from his friend Caleb and he loves it. Thank you for Cammy's monkey outfit as well! You spoiled us this visit!

There's a nummy in my party!

There's a nummy in my party! (Cameron's words after taking a bite of his raisin toast.)
Translation: There's a party in my tummy.

Cameron is growing up and certainly talking up a storm. In the waiting room of the doctor office, Cameron pointed to the man behind us and said "Mommy, is that a monster?" I turned to see what he was looking at and it was a very tall bearded man. He sorta resembled Herman Munster but with long shaggy gray hair. I quickly scanned the room and noticed a dinosaur on the wall and said " NO Cammy, that's a dinosaur." A few minutes later he pointed to a bald man and said "is that a baby?" This man laughed and I was afraid to stay any longer. He does not mean any harm. He will see men while out and about and even if they look nothing like daddy, he will ask "is that daddy." Either he's really curious about people or really confused!

Can you keep me safe?

For some reason the Baby einstein videos have provided hours of entertainment to the kids since Collin was a baby. In some of the videos the puppets will enter the the screen "in a peek-a-boo" fashion. The music gets loud and always startles me. It has scared each child from Collin at 1 to 2 years old, Connor the same and now Cameron at age 2. He really wants to watch these movies, but knows that if he does he will be scared. Cameron will ask to watch the show but recently he asked me to sit with him and keep him safe. I went to the other room to do my hair. I could see him watching the show from where I stood. He had his blankie over his eyes. When I asked him what was wrong he looked at me with worried eyes and asked if I could hold him! How funny is it that he wants to subject himself to that.

We recently had some little friends over for a day. I had 6 boys to care for (ages 1, 2, 3, 4, and two 6 year olds). While getting all the kids settled on a project or toy, Collins 6 year old buddy turns to me and says "there's a lot of drama in this house". I cracked up. I wasn't sure if it was due to the "6" children in the house or if it was just so different from his house. Yes, DRAMA. That is one word to describe my days. Here are some other words to describe my days: loud, dirty, soap, coffee, diapers, crumbs, fruity snacks, blankie, cereal, peanut butter, milk, grocery store, poop, apple juice, diapers, poop, weiner and no.

Home away from home!

We took the older boys to the Seattle Center for a day of fun! The weather was perfect and the boys were in heaven. It was nice to get out of Yakima for the day and just enjoy the surroundings. Seattle makes me happy!
